How Bread Is Helping Refugees Start New Lives
Flour, Salt, Time. So much life has been sustained with such simple ingredients. And now, through the work of Breadwinners, this simple recipe is building the futures of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK through a programme of training the sale of nutritious, additive free Real Bread.
This is the Breadwinners story as told by Bittersweet, an American media agency who were grant-funded by their supporters to do some pro-bono work to help Breadwinners, the charity they elected to support.
Breadwinners wants to help refugees and asylum-seekers build complete lives, not just to subsist. Helping people rebuild their confidence requires treating them as individuals with their own ambitions, aims, challenges, and concerns, and that requires close personal attention, which Breadwinners achieves through its volunteer mentors.
